Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 4. It’s going to be September – where did the month go? This week is going to be a short, action packed week. Every month we will focus on an ethic trait. September is responsibility. We will be talking about this trait as a class consistently throughout the month.
Wednesday night is Back to School Night. Please come as I will be explaining A LOT of our class expectations, routines, homework, communication, volunteering, etc. I will send the powerpoint afterward.
Here’s a breakdown of our week:
French:
We will be working on the letter A. It is pronounced like “AH”. We will see:
un ananas – pineapple – pronounced: uhn ah-nah-nahss
un artichaut – artichoke – pronounced: uhn ahr-tee-sho
un arbre – tree – pronounced: uhn ahr-bruh
une abeille – bee – pronounced: une ah-bayuh
un ami – friend – pronounced: uhn ah-mee
un avion – plane – pronounced: uhn ah-vee-own
une araignée – spider – pronounced: une ah-rhain-yeh
We will complete letter writing, sound isolating, syllable clapping, and syllable identifying activities.
We will learn to write the word “C’est” as a sight word this week as we continue to use it in our sentence structure.
Book: La semaine de Max et Mathilde, where we learn to recognize and read the days of the week.
We're concentrating on learning the days of the week
Math:
We will be learning the number 3, its representation in words, ten-frame, and tally marks. We will also be completing simple addition up to 3.
