Dear Parents,

Week 30! I hope everyone had fantastic, restful Spring Break. We have just 9 weeks left of school. Can you believe it? It’s been an incredible learning journey up til now!

This is a super action packed week: There is no school on Monday. Mme Bollier is our substitute on Tuesday, and we go on our field trip to Underwood Farms on Friday! All the while, we prepare to show off our learning through various projects for Open House (next Thursday!)

French:

We are working on the letter “Z”. It is pronounced “Zed” and makes the same sound as in English. Your student will watch the video on how to write Z here. We will be learning the following words, which can be seen in video here.

  • Un zèbre - zebra

  • Des zigzags - zigzags

  • Un zoo – zoo

  • Un bazar – bazar

  • quinze - 15

  • bizarre – bizarre/weird

Sight words: So far, we have learned: C’est, je, suis, le, la, il, elle, ma, mon, comme, ici, vais, joue, pour, fais, un, une, dans, moi, toi, et and au.

Book: We will be reading informational texts about farm animals.

Math:

We continue to add/subtract within 10, compose/decompose, work on base-10, count by 1s, 5s, and 10s, and recognize flat and solid geometric shapes and tell about their attributes.

Comptine:

Le vieux MacDonald a une ferme
