Dear Parents,

Welcome to Week 37! Thank you so much for all of your love and support throughout Teacher Appreciation Week – the flowers, snacks, cards, love notes, and school supplies (we opened the glue sticks already). I’m so appreciative of your support throughout this year as it is coming to a close.

Don’t forget: Our French department show is MONDAY, 8:30-9:30. For those of you who will not be able to make it, I’ll be streaming it on an app called Periscope using Twitter handle @mllevalsunshine. Your family members near and far can watch, too!

We’re wrapping up a few things for the end of the school year. I cannot believe how quickly this year has passed. If your student has not returned their library book, please bring it back by next week, otherwise, you will be issued a library book fine. You will not receive your child’s report card if the book is not returned or the fine not paid.

Here are our adventures this week:

  • French/Math: We’re all done learning all of our letters/sounds and math concepts for the year. We’re still in the midst of our evaluations. Almost everyone student has finished their initial i-Ready diagnostic test. I’ll send home their login information so that you can practice at home over the summer.

  • Book: We finished writing our story: “Pourquoi le chaton est doux et mignon?” The kids are pretty excited to publish it. You’ll receive an epub version as soon as the illustrations are complete. They’re eager to write a second story, too!

  • Science: We will be learning about marine animals.

Homework explanation:

  • Please read at least 20 minutes per day with your student.

Reminders:

  • Please make sure you sign your child’s behavior log every day.

  • Field trip next Tuesday. Please make sure that your student arrives on time!

  • Monday is our Spring French concert!
