The Witch, The Hunter and The Dwarf centered around the named three characters, and their escapades into ending the rising of Bleakwood's Dead, while delving into shady events lost in their own pasts.

Everything began in a peaceful little hamlet located on the outskirts of the Bleakwood Forest. A dwarf mercenary named Tathra had just arrived in town after escorting a caravan through the forest. Before she was able to collect her pay, a group of skeletons came charging out of the woods, killing townspeople and setting fire to buildings. In the ensuing battle, two hunters of darkness were quick to appear, Arch Vigilant Rykker and Marco Valore. Together they fought off the skeletons but at heavy toll to the village. The Vigilant, suggesting that the group needs the aid of Thyme Belleville, the woman behind the myth of the Banshee of Bleakwood, venture off to swamps heart to find her. Find her they do, and after some rather close negotiations, she agrees tentively to tag along. The party ventures to the witch's hometown of Alesmouth, where they gather some necessary equipment and research before being waylaid by the corrupt town "guards". After dispatching the gatekeepers, the three ride off into the swamp on stolen horses.
