"I'm afraid only death awaits you under that accursed place." - Father Morlain
The Fellwater Campaign centered around a small Mortainian mining village of the same name. The PC's were to unravel the mysteries of the village and it's inhabitants, while delving through a twisted dungeon full of nightmarish creatures and mind shattering experiences to accomplish their ultimate goal of stopping the lord of evil Asmodeous from rising again.
Status: Canned
The Fellwater campaign was to consist of twenty or so dungeon levels underneath the village Hospice. The game was broken up into three acts, each act beginning and ending when the PC's reached a certain level in the dungeon. Each act would introduce a new group of main antagonist enemies, as well as lead to new sagas within the village and it's NPCs.
In addition to the village being host to a colorful cast of new NPC's, it also featured returning PC's as town NPC's. Ruby Monroe served as the makeshift innkeeper of the villages one inn, the Pious Sinner, Thyme Belleville was there in town devoting her magic to creating a way for adventurers to reach Asmodeous, Alysdare D'Argent was present as well, capitalizing on this chance to study the witch of legend, and unearth secrets of his own within the villages past.
The campaign had a heavy focus on combat and roleplay, as well as forcing the party to think smarter about their planning and tactics, both within the dungeon and the town. It was also the first campaign run that featured a sanity mechanic.
Final Attempt: 1st floor beaten, game ended on the beginning of the 2nd
The Fellwater Campaign easily holds the record for the greatest amount of player deaths over the course of it's many iterations.
