SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) & final format in Silhouette Studio, DXF (Desktop Cutting Plotter)
Create original designs in Inkscape. Save as an SVG and a DXF. Why? SVG you can edit and use for other projects. DXF you will open and print using Silhouette Studio.
"The Silhouette CAMEO® is an electronic cutting tool for personal use. Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac® with a simple USB cable. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric and more up to 12" wide and 10 feet long."
A note about words/fonts: You must turn the word/letters into paths (Path > Object to Path); only then will they appear in the DXF file. Thicker fonts are easier to weed.
The cutting mat is 12"x12", but you can feed the vinyl in directly without the mat for designs wider or higher than 12".
