Laser: Name Ornament

Create a  holiday ornament personalized with a name. Choose from:

• • onion ornament

  • round ornament

  • snowflake ornament

After you select an ornament shape, right-click on the download icon.

Select Save Target As. Select Desktop. Click Save.

Locate the file on the Desktop. Right-click on the file and from the menu select Inkscape.

Click on the Text Tool and enter your holiday message on your ornament!

Ideas: Names, Year, "Happy Holiday", etc.

Laser Cut Polish Folk Ornament

For this version of our class, we'll use a shape for the ornament, and you'll find a wycinanki design to apply to the ornament.

And here is a Google Image search for wycinanki. Keep in mind, the laser cutter does not produce color, so the very colorful images won't be as colorful, but just as intricate.

ATTN Staff: Cutting Notes

*Cutting Notes: In RetinaEngrave, staff will have to change the color of the outer circle and the hanging hole circle to set the vector to cut at 40% Speed and 100% Power with at least 2 passes.

If you would like to lightly vector engrave the outline of the snowflake, try setting vector at 80% Speed and 30 % Power.

The small example ornament was rastered at 60% Power and 90% Speed.
