Draw with shapes or letters

You can fill the work area with shapes to decorate your pumpkin, or you can draw a Jack O'Lantern. For shapes, you can work with the Circle, Star/Polygon, or Square Tool. You can also try the Text Tool, which looks like a capital A in the Tool Bar.

To draw a mouth...try the Bezier Tool

An easy way to draw a mouth is to draw the left corner with one click, draw the right corner with another click, and going to the first point, click-hold, then drag away from the origin until you like the bend, then release the mouse button.

To get a smilier mouth, draw the left corner with one click. Bring the cursor and that red line to the right, and about halfway across the mouth, right-click and hold to create a curve in your line. Bring the cursor to the origin, click-hold and create a matching curve.

For more advanced descriptions of how to use the Bezier, see Drawing freehand and regular paths.

Adding a tooth or two

You can use shapes like circles, squares, or triangles to create teeth  or pupils for the mouth and eyes of your jack o'lantern. Draw the shapes and place them where you want. Then, selecting one shape and its main shape (such as, a tooth and the mouth) and go to Path>Difference.

You can get a really detailed pumpkin this way!

*Last call file check: If you used any letters/numbers in your design, you will have to select all letters/numbers and go to Path>Object to Path so the vinyl cutter will see the lines.

Save as SVG & DXF

We're going to save as an SVG (this is easy to edit if you need to) and a DXF for the vinyl cutter. You can rename your file to find it more easily at the vinyl cutter. Go to File>Save As and save in both formats.

Now we'll cut your stickers

We'll be using Silhouette Studio.
