3D Sew-On Buttons

Introduction

Today you will design two sew-on buttons in Inkscape.

How?

• • Create two buttons in Inkscape

  • Create a TinkerCad account

  • Import your SVG button features into TinkerCad

  • Add a base to your button features

  • Complete two button designs: 4mm height and a 35mm diameter

Download the Template

Scroll to the bottom of the page and download Button Shapes and Buttons by Right-Clicking the the download arrows, selecting Save Target As, and selecting Desktop as the destination.

Buttons.svg is a blank template approximately 30px by 30px. When you import to TinkerCad, 1px = 1mm.

Button Shapes.svg is a document with two sets of dingbat font shapes listed below. The dingbat font shapes were made available by their authors and are free to download. Please find their contact information if you have any questions about the commercial use of their designs.
