Max Factor Eyebrows

Celebrate Polish American Heritage Month with the Maker Lab. We are highlighting the groundbreaking make up artist Max Factor. Born Maksymilian Faktorowicz in 1872 in Lodz Poland, Factor was a Polish Jew. He became a wigmaker in Lodz and was hired to the Russian Grand Opera to work on costumes, wigs, and make-up. He was also made the cosmetic expert by the royal family. The demands of the family became overwhelmingly oppressive so in 1904 he immigrated to the United States with his family. He would eventually become the expert in make-up during Hollywood's Golden Age, creating signature looks for Marlene Dietrich and Jean Harlow.

Participants in this class will be able to create two custom eyebrow stencils for helping guide their make-up routine. Working from a template, decide how much of an arch you desire, use a mirror to measure and take home a set of custom stencils.
