The term “member” applies also to a CFC leader.
Inactive members refer to those who have been dropped from the CFC active membership roster for any of the following reasons (after consistent follow-up, including actual or attempt for 1on1's and/or 2on2’s every quarter as a guide):
An active member’s decision to become inactive.
A member’s continued absence in any CFC activities for one (1) year without valid reasons.
Note: The concerned Pastoral Head should officially communicate to the couple/member and Service Head (if applicable) before their deactivation from the list of CFC members.
The following are not considered inactive:
Members who still attend some CFC activities, even if these are just household meetings in their homes or online.
Members with serious health problems, provided that they continue to attend CFC household meetings/other activities when able.
Members who are unable to regularly (but not continuously) attend CFC activities due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., work or other responsibilities).
Members on local or foreign travel due to work assignments, study, or other personal reasons but resume active participation in CFC activities upon their return to their home base.
The Household Head must have a one-on-one meeting with the member prior to tagging the member as Inactive in OGD.
The Unit Head, being the pastoral head, can reach out to these members.
Ultimately, the Chapter Head, in consultation with the Chapter Household, decides when a Chapter member is considered Inactive.
If a member moved to a different CFC area, his/her OGD record must be transferred to the new area. Use the OGD Member Transfer function.
If a member remains in your area and is not active (i.e., not attending CFC events including household meetings), follow the steps below.
It is best to keep the member's OGD record. We have seen inactive members who become active again after several years of being inactive.
Note: The steps below also apply when a member is deceased or moved to another non-CFC community. Just set the Status of "Deceased" or "Moved to ...", whichever is applicable.
What do I do when a member becomes inactive?
Update the member's OGD Pastoral Service Record.
Click ADD RECORD.
Adjust the FROM date if needed.
The TO date is automatically set to Present. Adjust this if needed.
The 2nd record's To date must be the same as the From date of the new record.
Set the Service to Member.
Set HH HEAD (Household Head) to <empty>.
Set Status to Inactive.
Here is a sample view.
If you do not follow this procedure, it is possible that you or someone will encounter this error in the future.
It would be good to still update his/her OGD Parish Service record. This way, when the member becomes active again, the OGD has his/her updated parish service.
Your chapter should have a Church Integration Couple Coordinator, who may stay in touch with the inactive member.
Include them in Win Old Members Back (WOMB) program.
Also called Bring Old Members Back (BOMB) program.
If your chapter does not have a WOMB program, start one. Continue the work of evangelization.
Stay in touch with them.
Invite them to CFC events like CPA, household meetings, and fellowship events (e.g., picnic, movie night, birthday celebration, Christmas celebration).
Pray for them.
