Aydelotte House
Aydelotte House was a two-story small house student residence located south of 21st Street along the east side of Avenue I.
SHSU identified the 8,161-square-foot residence as one of the Men's Cooperative Homes when the Texas State University System Board of Regents approved its honorary name [1].
The Sigma Mu Zeta chapter of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity lived here during the mid-to-late 1970s. SHSU asked the fraternity to move off-campus for not properly maintaining the house [3]. The house then became student housing and returned to being identified by its original honorific name.
The building housed 48 female students throughout the 1990s [4] until its demolition. Residence Life classified this small house as part of the "Four South" and later as part of the "The Valley".
The Feb. 2005 assembly of the Board of Regents approved the demolition of both Aydelotte and McCray houses [5].
SHSU constructed Raven Village on the site in 2006.
