Adams Hall
Adams Hall was a three-story, all-male student residence located near the intersection of Avenue M and 17th Street, west of main campus.
The dormitory housed close to 160 students [3].
In 1980, SHSU art professor and Huntsville artist Stanley Lea painted the abstract mural "Timewarp" on the building's northern side [3, 5].
SHSU closed the dormitory after discovering cracks in the foundation, corrosion of steel framing around windows and doors, and other structural damages. The university planned to demolish most of the building but save the mural and keep it standing [3] or relocate it to a different site. That was not to be, and the mural came down with the building [4].
SHSU transferred the name Adams to an unnamed student residence after the demolition.
