Feed Formulation Building

Feed Formulation Building

The Feed Formulation Building was one of the buildings located at the former Agriculture Center along northbound Interstate 45.

At one time, the northeast part of the building contained the Agriculture Center manager's office [1].

The demonstration feedlot, an outdoor feeding area for beef cattle, was northwest of the building. Because of the large number of livestock on the property, the university paid a premium to pump manure into the city sewer [1].

SHSU demolished the buildings in the late-1990s because of their deterioration, smell, and nearness to the residential areas on the other side of Robinson Creek [1].

The Agriculture Department built a greenhouse on the site of the feedlot in 2000.
