Engineering Technology Annex A

Engineering Technology Annex A

Engineering Technology Annex A is located at the northeastern corner of Sam Houston Avenue and 21st Street.

The one-story metal frame building was the second building in the Art Complex to have been built exclusively for the Department of Art. The department used it for print and ceramic classes and the Students of Fine Arts (SOFA) Gallery.

The structure was known as Building A [1] of the Art Complex. Campus maps of the 1990s were not always detailed and labeled this and the neighboring buildings as a collective group called the Fine Arts Complex [2]. The Art Department moved into the Hoyt Art Complex in 2019.

The Department of Engineering Technology assumed ownership of the building, which was within walking distance of the Pirkle Engineering Technology Center. Engineering Technology Annex A includes a safety research and technology laboratory, a virtual reality engineering laboratory, and a construction materials laboratory [3].
