The Agriculture Laboratory was a one-story building located west of the Industrial Arts Building between University Avenue and Sam Houston Avenue.
The Department of Agriculture referred to the building as the Meats and Milk Processing Lab [1] because students brought meat and pasteurized milk from the college farms and dairy (both the college farm and County Campus) to sell to the on-campus dining halls.
In the mid-1980s, with the university no longer operating a dairy or processing milk products, the Department of Agriculture moved the meat processing functions into a newly-constructed addition of the Abattoir Building at the Agriculture Center along Interstate 45 [2].
SHSU removed this and other buildings between University and Sam Houston Avenues in the late 1980s to create green space and parking areas.
