SHSU generates the building identification numbers shown below. The earliest use of these numbers was SHSU: 2000, the campus master plan update published in 1981-82. Typically each unique building receives a number. Once the building is demolished, the number is retired.
There have been exceptions. For example, SHSU first assigned 0010 to the Music Building. After remodeling and combining it with the Evans English Building, SHSU gave the combined structure the original English building's number (0011). In the early 2000s, SHSU reassigned the number 0010 to the newly constructed Academic Building Four.
Our list below builds on SHSU's original with a few revisions:
Numbers followed by letters (a,b,c, etc.) show the order in which SHSU reused the numbers
Numbers with the # symbol are unconfirmed but possibly correct based on the building's geographic location with other numbers.
Numbers with the % symbols were possibly reused for multiple buildings.
Our list is neither complete nor entirely correct, but it is the most inclusive version based on years of research. Buildings not owned by SHSU are not included.
