This NJR Gustav was my first real spray paint job, in that the parts being painted were part of the movement mechanism and not just add-on exterior parts like on my Gunblaster. On my own, I got the idea of using drinking straws to mask off the pivot points. For other areas I just used cellophane tape.
The original color of NJR Gustav is a very light green with red armor. I kept the red armor color but I painted all the light green of the Gustav with a desert tan, and painted the trailer treads and hitches light tan. My gustav is pictured towing a factory fresh Hasbro Red Blade Liger with a painted CP-12.
