The 35 ton Weasel was designed to give maximum short range energy weapon based firepower on a fast and lightweight chassis. Eight small ER lasers, two small Pulse lasers, and dual machine guns are used in the weapons mix.
The small ER lasers have special elongated emitters to increase range without increasing energy requirements. A bank of triple jump jets can provide an extra burst of speed.
Weasel pilots are often sent in behind enemy lines without support to take out important targets. They rely heavily on speed, surprise, and close proximity to the target to accomplish their mission and return.
One famous Weasel pilot has this slogan painted on his mech: "Get in, get down, get out!"
