The Kodiak Assault Mech weighs in at 100 tons and is one of the heaviest mechs in existence. It was designed as a close-in assault mech. This is reflected in its weapons readout: one UltraAutocannon-20, ten medium ER lasers, one Streak SRM-12 battery, and two machine guns. There are no long-range weapons.
Armor levels are quite high, and the pilot is well protected in this machine. Due to the thick armor and the space required by its multiple rows of heat sinks, only a moderate amount of ammunition for the autocannon can be carried. Speed is not a strong point, and usually there is no room for jump jets.
On this particular example, the pilot has removed the standard issue "strike claws" in order to save weight. This reflects a trend to avoid melee combat whenever possible.
Builder Notes:
Although this configuration of the Kodiak is my favorite mech when fighting against overwhelming odds, it never has enough speed or autocannon ammunition.
