Typhoon Heavy Tank

The Typhoon is a fully tracked heavy assault weapon manned by a single operator. Computer assistance is provided to allow limited automation of piloting the vehicle or firing the weapons. The Typhoon has one ER PPC as its main weapon, with "coaxial" single ER medium laser and single LBX-5 autocannon. These three weapons are mounted on a common trunnion that gives 0 to +20 degrees elevation.

To the right of the PPC is a dual ER small laser with 0 to +90 degrees elevation. All this is housed in a rather bulky turret that provides 360 degrees of traverse and generous ammunition storage.

The ample engine is amidships and the transmission and final drives are mounted in front. The driver is seated in the rear of the vehicle, and is thus well protected by armor and machinery from frontal attack.

Builder's Notes: I've always loved tanks, and when the Adventurers #5934 Track Master came out, I could finally build one out of Lego. It took many plates and a lot of trial and error to create a low-profile chassis that was still tall enough to seat a minifig. The insignia on the tank front glasis plate is from Star Wars #7131 Anakin's Podracer.
