The Gargoyle IIC Assault Mech weighs 85 tons and is significantly improved over the standard version. The original Gargoyle was fast for an assault mech but had weak armement. Also the original had all its weapons in the arms, which enhanced heat disipation, but also made "disarmament by dismemberment" an ugly possiblity for the Gargoyle in combat.
The Gargoyle IIC version trims engine size and trades slightly reduced speed for improved weapons. High capacity ER PPCs now occupy the arm slots. All other weapons are moved to the torso. Dual UAC-5s are mounted mid-torso, while four medium ER lasers, one Streak SRM-4 battery, and twin machine guns are mounted in the lower torso.
The Gargoyle's high heat dissipation rates are retained with numerous heat sinks and an improved cooling system. Top speed is now 72 km/hr, still pretty fast for an assault mech.
Builder Notes: I've always liked the looks of the Gargoyle but not the lack of powerful weapons. I was inspired to build my own version after viewing the Gargoyle at LEGO MechCommander. As is typical, this mech uses a lot of slopes. Of particular interest are the tall double slopes used in the upper shoulders, which are from #7186 Watto's Junkyard, and two multi-inverse slopes from the #7151 Sith Infiltrator used in the torso to support the shoulders.
