Sparrow Scout and Recon Helicopter

The Sparrow is a mid-engine Scout and Recon helicopter manned by a single operator. A single engine powers the four-blade rotor and a conventional tail rotor is used. The Sparrow is lightly armed and has minimal armor but since it has a high power to weight ratio it is very agile.

The Sparrow is armed with twin small ER lasers and twin machine guns. Some versions are also fitted with telescopic cameras to record or convey tactical situations as they unfold on the battlefield.

Landing skids are used to save weight and reduce complexity.

Builder's Notes: helicopters seem to be a natural to the MechWarrior world. It made perfect sense to model some of them. The harder part of this model was to come up with a way to reduce the height of the main fuselage yet still seat a minifig. Eventually this was solved with L plates.
