The Crossbow light mech weighs 30 tons and was designed for scouting and hit-and-run operations. It is armed with a single UAC-2 in the left torso, three medium ER lasers in the right torso, a Streak SRM-4 rack above the cockpit, and dual machine guns in the "chin" of the cockpit.
The pronounced bulge in front of the pilot houses a sensor array.
The Crossbow is reasonably fast but is lightly armored.
The Crossbow 2C light mech weighs 33 tons and differs from the original in several areas. The cockpit was moved forward and the pilot hatch was enlarged. Moving the cockpit made room for a larger and more powerful engine. Heat dissipation rates were improved by adding more vents. Armor levels were increased and the legs strengthened.
A revised sloped upper torso makes the most of the increased armor levels. A second UAC-2 was added and ammunition storage was increased by 75%.
All these changes increased the weight by only three tons, but the revised mech is faster, better armed, and better protected than the original.
