Thalanil Darieth (Father) was a moon elven commoner who died while visiting a tavern he had purchased in Phlan.
Shandalar Moonflower (Aunt) trained Vadania as a bladesinger, before dying tragically herself in a training accident.
Hometown: Quivering Forest near Phlan
A priestess devoted to Hanali Celanil, Hhora Moonflower left Evermeet to wed a moon elven commoner, Thalanil Darieth. she met and loved during a seasonal festival. They disappeared into the High Forest, where Vadania was born. They decided to raise her among the elves there, to protect her from Kymil Nimesin (who had killed her grandfather). Her aunt, Shandalar, trained her as a bladesinger, before dying tragically herself in a training accident.
Near the end of her time in the High Forest, while exploring the woods she came across the ruins of an elven fort near Shining Falls. Scouting the area, she found that a bandit group, the Half-Elven Renegades, was keeping a young elven noble named Sythaeryn hostage within the ruins. While debating on what to do, she came across the camp of a young man named Solus.
A former barrister from Waterdeep, he had been approached by the Sythaeryn's uncle Nindrol. Nindrol stood to inherit the estate if Sythaeryn did not come to claim it in the required time. The time was almost up, and Nindrol wanted Solus to delay any legal attempts to delay settlement of the inheritance, claiming that Sythaeryn was away on a hunting trip and did not care about his inheritance. Concerned about questions of morality, Solus looked into the matter and determined that Nindrol had arranged for Sythaeryn to go on the hunting trip with some associates of Nindrol. Solus was able to piece together that Nindrol's associates were likely making sure that Sythaeryn did not return in time. Realizing that he had no proof of his suspicions, and unwilling to ignore the situation, Solus took it upon himself to travel to the "hunting lodge" to rescue Sythaeryn.
Comparing notes, they realized that the young hostage would likely be killed after his inheritance had been given to Nindrol, to make sure he couldn't question the disposition. Together, they faced off against the Half-Elven Renegades and freed Sythaeryn. Sythaeryn was in shock from the ordeal and feeling alone and betrayed. Together, Solus and Vadania shared comfort, words of wisdom, and encouraged the young elf about what he might be able to accomplish with his familys estate. Vadania and Solus came to respect one another, after hearing one another support and comfort the young man. Solus took Sythaeryn back to Waterdeep, where he claimed his inheritance and became a force for good in the city.
The family moved to the Quivering Forest, following a vision that Hhora had about danger from the Pool of Radiance. Vadania's father was killed under mysterious circumstances while he was visiting a tavern he had purchased in Phlan. Heartbroken, Hhora stayed in the Quivering Forest, tended by the elves there.
When Vadania's family moved to the Quivering Forest, Sheranya's family gave them sanctuary and shared their home. Vadania and Sheranya spent many years together, exploring the forest and grew as close as sisters. Later, after Thalanil died, Vadania chose to leave with the village when Sheranya was exiled, not wanting her to be alone and needing some distance herself from the constant memories of her father that arose while in the village.
A week before Thalanil Darieth was planning to visit the tavern in Phlan, a group of thugs were breaking into the tavern. Ark ran across them, and despite being outnumbered, managed to outwit them and humiliate them with her skill and prowess. When Vadania heard of it, she sought out Ark, complimented her on her skill and bravery in facing a unknown group of cutthroats, realizing that if it had been a week later, her father might have been in danger. This made it even more poignant for Vadania to find out that her father was killed mysteriously a week after this event, at the very same tavern.
Vadania is determined to stop the danger her mother saw in her vision. She hopes to gain her familys respect by stopping Tiamat's uprising. Perhaps then, she will be welcomed to Evermeet.
Without many resources, she feels forced to work with the lower class towards her ends. Still struggling with her mother's choice of partner, she is ashamed of being seen with such company and will try to avoid further embarrassing her family.
