Yuan-ti Characters

On page 119 of Tomb of Ann h lation, the book describes

the possibility of a character becoming a yuan-ti. I think

lot of pl yers would love having the option of m king a

char cter like this right from the beginning of the adventure.

The character could be very myste1ious, hidden under

hoods, alw ys paranoid of being accused of being an

evildoer. They might desperatelyw nt to find aw yto

return to norm 1.

The m in thing to consider when deciding whether to

llow this is to note that the character will be quite powerful,

having both m gic resist nee and an immunity to

poison.

This is a hard adventure, so there is probably room for

character that is a bit more powerful than the norm. The

ppe 1 of this option is more in the cool factor rather than

the st tistic 1 benefits. The character will be stronger, but

will be at a big dis dvant ge when interacting with potenti

1 allies, who will not tmst the character and in some

c ses will be openly hostile to them.

M ke sure the rest of the group is cool with it. Some

pl yers get bent out of shape over power discrepencies.

STATISTICS

BACKSTORIES

There are a lot of possibilities for the char cter's

backstory. Here are some that are tied to the Tomb

of Ann h lation story.

WRECK 10 HE '&R OJDDESS

The character could have been one of the crew of

the crashed airship (f oA pgs 84-85).

RAS Ns1

The character could have been a prisoner that R s

si decided to rele se so that the character could

find the cure to the de th curse. R s Nsi promised

to revert the character to norm 1 once the mission

is complete ( lie).

FENTHAZA

The character w s a sl ve ofFenthaz (foA page

11 7) that befriended the air element 1 in the um

("Stone Um", ToA pg 117). The element 1 secretly

helped the character esc pe, and now the hero

w nts to go back to free the element 1 from the

um.

DENDAR

Dendar sends dre ms to the char cter, urging them

to find the bl ck opal crown ( described on ToA

page 189). Those dre ms are sometimes invaded

by the Sewn Sisters, who w r with Dendar in the

dre msc pe. There is one w y to end this m dness

- find and destroy the bl ck opal crown.
