Piper

My name is Piper and I love art because I can create anything I want without having to follow rules or guidelines. I like to do lots of different types of art but my favorite is realistic acrylic paintings. When I am doing art I feel very open-minded, I can hang out with my friends but also do detailed and intricate work.  I think people can express a lot of powerful ideas and feelings in their paintings. For example culture, a political view, emotion and so much more. Art is important to me because it's a way for me and others to create something no one else has before and try something new. When I made this art piece I learned how to make things look more dramatic and pop. I also learned how to add more detail and defiance. I also learned that sometimes painting for long periods can get pretty boring so it's nice to try something different for a change.

My piece Is a dripping eyeball, I have always liked to draw faces but especially eyeballs. There was no specific inspiration for my piece except that I enjoy doing this type of painting. I don't have a specific meaning behind my piece but I think it could show someone who is very sad and wants to express themself. I used acrylic paint for my whole painting. I attempted to add as much detail as I could without overdoing it. The Iris that dripped down the painting is a blueish color, I made the eyeball look kind of bloodshot and red. I kept most of the painting white to add dramatic effect. While you look at my piece  I hope that you feel inspired and say “wow”. I also did three other paintings but I chose this one because I think it was the most intricate and powerful.
