Kaya

Hi, my name is Kaya, and I'm in 8th grade! Art is important to me because art is part of my everyday life everything is a work of art and every work of art has a meaning behind it. Something that I like about is it can have almost no limits. You can do almost whatever comes to your mind or any ideas that you love and see. Something I learned while making art is that you will come across problems. Problems that you can't fix, forcing you to work around it or work with it, just trust your gut.

My piece is bedazzled shoes. This was NOT my first idea. But it wasn't my last. I liked the idea of bedazzling for a long time, but bedazzling became more of an interest after I started watching a content creator who goes by the name of Arianna Hailey. She is one of my favorite creators and is honestly so funny! Not all of her videos are on bedazzling (specifically her new ones) but if the past paddling was one of her patients (still is just not as much). But every time I watch her videos, I think to myself and wonder if I could ever do something like that. But bigger and better. My work is not something that I just love, it is something that represents me. To me this piece represents my and not just my personality, but my life. Shiny, happy, and full of different pieces to pull it all together. 

Gems (black, shiny) - I chose these gems because I knew I wanted them to shine!! If I did too dark of a color I knew it would not have the effect that I wanted it to have. To be honest I think I didn't think too hard about my materials. But overall I loved my project and I'm so very happy with it.
