3/9/2018 New Balance Indoor Nationals 0 South Brunswick 0 Ray Jumps 11+ again!
Sabrina Ray was the lone Viking to compete at the New Balance Indoors Nationals in New York. She once again jumped over 11 feet in the pole vault, finishing with her mark of 11'2.5!

2/24/2018 Meet of Champions 0 South Brunswick 0 2 Medalists at MOC!
South Brunswick had 10 athletes compete at the Meet of Champions, and many of them had great performances, including 2 medal winners! Essence Baker finished 6th in the 800 with a new indoor PR of 2:15.49, while Sabrina Ray jumped 11'6 in the Pole Vault to take 8th place! In addition, Chantel Osley ran a season-best of 5:16.72 in the 1600, and she joined Baker, Joanna Taitt, and Misha Duverger on the 4x400 relay which ran a big season-best of 4:04.98!

2/20/2018 Easterns 0 South Brunswick 0 School Record at Easterns!
A small group of Vikings had a strong showing at the Easterns in New York on Tuesday night! The highlight was the 4x800 relay team running an indoor school record time of 9:36.03! The team of Essence Baker, Chantel Osley, Danae Audibert, and Nikhila Obbineni finished 7th in a competitive race.
Several other athletes set new personal bests at the meet.

2/17/2018 Group IV State Championships 0 South Brunswick 0 2 Group IV State Champs!
The Vikings had a great showing on Saturday at the Group IV State Championships. Two athletes earned individual state titles and the team finished in 3rd place overall with 24 points! In a span of about 15 minutes both Sabrina Ray and Essence Baker won their first individual state titles and became the 5th and 6th girls in school history to win an indoor Group state title! Both athletes came out on top in very close competition. Ray won the Pole Vault with her jump of 11'6, while Baker set an indoor PR in the 800 with her winning time of 2:16.30! The other medal-winning performance was recorded by the 4x400 relay team of Joanna Taitt, Misha Duverger, Chantel Osley, and Baker. The four girls combined to run a season-best of 4:07.59 which earned them 4th place and a spot in the Meet of Champs! In addition, Nicole Fenske will qualify for the Meet of Champs as a wildcard in the 3200 based on her 11th place finish in an indoor PR of 11:27.16. The 4x800 relay should also be accepted for the showcase event at the Meet of Champs!

2/10/2018 South Brunswick 59 Central Jersey IV Sectionals 50 Sectional Champions!
The Vikings came through with a total team effort on Saturday night to capture their 3rd straight indoor Central Jersey Group IV Sectional championship! The team scored in 8 of the 10 events, totaled 59 points, and had 10 athletes earn medals, each of whom qualifies for next week's Group IV State championship! The team received many big contributions on the track and in the field, and had my PRs throughout the meet.
Leading the way with event victories were Sabrina Ray and Essence Baker. Ray won her first sectional title with a PR height of 11'7 in the Pole Vault! That height is also the second best all-time in school history! Baker won her second consecutive title in the 800 in a time of 2:17.88!
Individually the team had one double medalist, Misha Duverger, who finished 3rd in the 55 Hurdles and 4th in the 55 Dash! She ran 8.76 in the 55 Hurdles (8.71 in the trials) and 7.49 in the 55 Dash, both of which were new personal bests!
Nicole Fenske also finished in 3rd, with her time of 11:29.03 setting a new indoor PR in the 3200!
4th place finishes went to Nikhila Obbineni in the 1600 (5:16.94 PR, #8 in school history) and Lauren Brengel in the high jump (4'10 =PR).
5th place performances were turned in by Chantel Osley in the 1600 (5:20.03), Becky Hartman in the 3200 (11:32.54, #5 in school history), and Raquel Ferrara in the High Jump (4'10).
The lone 6th place finish was recorded by Riley Ratcliffe, who jumped a PR-tying height of 8'0 in the Pole Vault!
The scoring was completed in the final event, with the 4x400 relay team's 2nd place finish in 4:10.71! The team was made up of Duverger, Osley, Ratcliffe, and Baker.

South Brunswick had a good overall showing at the Ocean Breeze Invitational on Sunday in Staten Island. The team had two medal-winning performances at the competitive meet, and many other new PRs and season bests! Leading the way with a 3rd Place tie in the Varsity Pole Vault was Sabrina Ray, who cleared a PR-tying height of 10'6 for the 3rd straight meet! The other medal winner was Cheryl Chen, who ran a big PR of 9.57 to take 2nd in the Freshman 55 Hurdles! Another notable PR was turned in by Chantel Osley, who ran 2:19.59 to become only the 5th girl in school history to break 2:20 in the 800!

South Brunswick scored in 6 of the 9 events and totaled 26 points to finish in 2nd place overall at the Group IV State Relays on Thursday in Toms River. The team had 11 athletes earn medals, some of whom set new season bests! The highlight was the first place performance of the Sprint Medley relay team. Misha Duverger, Riley Ratcliffe, Joanna Taitt, and Essence Baker combined to run 4:20.90 for the win, which marks the first time in school history the team won the Sprint Medley at this meet! Other medal-winning relays were the 3rd place high jump team of Chelsea Eltringham (5-0) and Raquel Ferrara (4-10) that jumped a combined 9-10; the 4th place pole vault team of Sabrina Ray (10-6) and Ratcliffe (8-0) that jumped 18-6; the 4th place 4x400 team of Duverger, Taitt, Chantel Osley, and Baker that ran 4:13.57; the 6th place 4x200 team of Taitt, Duverger, Inayah Jones, and Ratcliffe that ran 1:49.29; and the 6th place Shuttle Hurdles team of Duverger, Grace Boekhout-Whiting, Janai Orders, and Eltringham that ran 34.08.

The Vikings won their 4th straight GMC Championship on Saturday night in Toms River, as the team won 4 of the 10 events and compiled 79.33 points overall! The team had 12 different medal winners and scored points all over the field and track for a total team effort. Event winners were Essence Baker, who captured the 800 for the second straight year in 2:20.41; Sabrina Ray, who won the Pole Vault for the second straight year with a new PR and meet record of 10'6; Misha Duverger, who won her first GMC title in the 55 Hurdles at 8.85; and the 4x400 team of Duverger, Joanna Taitt, Chantel Osley, and Baker that ran a big season-best of 4:09.90!

South Brunswick won its 4th straight GMC Relays Championship on Saturday night in Toms River! The team scored 74 points, won 4 of 9 varsity events, and had all 36 athletes who competed (18 varsity, 18 novice) earn at least one medal! In varsity competition, the team won three events on the track, and one in the field. In the field, Sabrina Ray and Riley Ratcliffe combined to jump 17'0 to win the pole vault! In the running events, the team won the Shuttle Hurdles, the 4x200, and the Sprint Medley. Misha Duverger, Grace Boekhout-Whiting, Janai Orders, and Chelsea Eltringham ran a season-best 33.96 for the victory, while Duverger was joined by Joanna Taitt, Lauren Powell, and Ratcliffe to win the 4x200 in 1:50.05, both races coming down to slim margins. In the Sprint Medley, Taitt was joined by Inayah Jones, Ray, and Essence Baker on the team that ran 4:23.66 for the win.

12/30/2017 Pietrewicz Invitational 0 South Brunswick 0 8 Medal Winners & a School Record at Pietrewicz Invite!
South Brunswick had a strong showing with a small number of athletes at the Pietrewicz Invitational on Saturday at the NY Armory. The team won an event, broke a school record, and had a total of 8 athletes earn medals for their top-6 performances! Leading the way with a dominant victory was the 4x200 relay team that ran a fast early season time of 1:47.79! The team was composed of Riley Ratcliffe, Misha Duverger, Sabrina Ray, and Joanna Taitt.
Finishing 5th but breaking the indoor school record in the 600 was Essence Baker, who ran a time of 1:41.24! Other medalists were Duverger, 3rd in the 55 Hurdles in 9.06, a season best; the Shuttle Hurdle team of Duverger, Grace Boekhout-Whiting, Janai Orders, and Chelsea Eltringham that was 4th in 34.64; and Sabrina Ray, 6th in the 55 Dash in a near-PR of 7.70!

12/28/2017 Track Universe Invitational 0 South Brunswick 0 Strong Day at Track Universe Invite!
The Vikings took a large contingent of athletes to New York on Thursday for the non-scoring Track Universe Invite. Many athletes performed well and set new bests. Top-3 performances were turned in by Sabrina Ray, who finished 3rd in the pole vault with a PR-tying height, and indoor PR of 10'0, and both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. The 4x800 team of Danae Audibert, Liann Zyontz, Nikhila Obbineni, and Ria Tilve finished 2nd in 10:36, while the 4x400 team of Misha Duverger, Essence Baker, Esha Sultana, and Riley Ratcliffe ran 4:19 for 3rd place.

12/22/2017 Egg Club Invitational 0 South Brunswick 0 Many Medal Winners at Egg Invite!
The Vikings had a strong showing at the Egg Invite on Friday in Toms River! Many athletes earned medals, including four relay teams that won their events, and one individual! In varsity events, the shuttle hurdle team of Misha Duverger, Chelsea Eltringham, Janai Orders, and Grace Boekhout-Whiting ran 34.94 for the victory, while the 4x200 team of Joanna Taitt, Duverger, Lauren Powell, and Riley Ratcliffe ran 1:51.02 for the win! In freshmen relays, the 4x200 team of Samiyah Hargrove, Lauren Brengel, Asha Muller, and Sanaai Johnson ran 2:00.56 for 1st place, while the Distance Medley team of Ava Hutchison, Elodie Bourgoin, Serena Hutchison, and Lauren Molter also came out on top with a time of 14:23.90!
The lone individual winner was Lauren Powell, who set a PR of 7.86 in winning the Novice 55 Dash!
