Exeter High School Student-Run Newspaper!
Final Words
By Alex Dobbins
Can’t believe it’s been 3 years of The Talon! I didn’t even join on my own to start… My parents told me early sophomore year that I HAD to join a club to avoid losing my phone, and they thought the newspaper would be good. After a few weeks, I begrudgingly decided to join, and I haven’t looked back since. So many articles, so many different topics… Bedside Hammer, Ocean Levels Rising, Department of Education Cuts, David Ortiz, New England’s Housing Crisis, and so, so, so many more. Exeter High School is very privileged to have a great digital newspaper full of intriguing articles written by talented writers, and led by great advisors from Ms. Christians to Mrs. Miles.
Even though I won’t be here, I’m excited to see what the future holds for the club. Specifically, since our new Principal has recognized and seen the value of the newspaper, and has decided to invest in a needed technological upgrade. This will definitely be a great thing for the future. Otherwise, I hope that more new writers will join. The Talon is truly a great opportunity to meet new people, write about whatever you want every month, and it’s a great extracurricular for college applications and anything else. Also, not to forget the opportunities! Getting to be one of three students in the state to interview David Ortiz? Special access to school events? Truly endless.
I have no regrets about deciding to stay with The Talon even after my parents told me I could stop going if I didn’t like it, and I’m very thankful for all of the opportunities I got through it.
To many more successful years,
Editor-in-Chief
