Beautiful Oops

This is a picture of a giraffe. The setting of this picture is in Africa. This was created with graphite and ink. I choose to make a giraffe because when i looked at the drops of ink I noticed that they were close together so I felt limited to what I could make. I eventually started to draw and got the idea of making a giraffe.

Some of the techniques I used was shading and texture for the mane. My drawing took some erasing and trying over and over again. I thought that it was unbalanced once I finished the giraffe because my eyes weren't straight to the giraffe, it was a side view, and it had too much negative space so drew a tree. Originally I thought that I was going to draw the entire giraffe but halfway through I realized that I was drawing the giraffe too big and there wouldn't be enough room.

The story behind this drawing is a giraffe eating leaves off of a tree. This is related to my life because I love animals. If I could go back and fix something I would go into more detail with the background and add more trees and maybe more giraffes.
