The final project for this class was to demonstrate what we have learned over the last semester. We were given a piece of paper that had twenty dots and we were to do whatever we wanted to with it. I decided that I wanted to do something different with each dot but I didn't know what. I looked up different ideas you could do with circles and I was inspired by a piece that had a tree and a bunch of circles surrounding it. I decided I wanted to do something similar but with my own twist. I chose to do a tree in the middle to represent life but to make it black so I could draw the attention away with the bright and colorful dots in the background. The first step I took was to choose which material I wanted to use, which was watercolor. I outlined where I wanted the tree to go then chose the colors for the circles. I used vibrant colors and used different colors for each circle. I then used black watercolor to paint the tree. If I could change anything about this piece, it would be, how my brushstrokes showed up in each circle. I wish I had chosen a different medium to make it look less sloppy and rushed.
