Abstract Shoe

The subject of my artwork is the zoomed in shoelaces that was turned into abstract/animals. I used color pencils, sharpie and pencil. Elements and Principles I used in this were lines, contrast and texture. The line is everywhere, the contrast was used with the duck, turtle and the bear, the colors are across from each other in the color wheel and they make each other pop. The texture was mostly in the bubbles in the bottom left, the bear and the turtle. I tried to make them have fluffy/ texture in their fur or shell.

Some Rules and Techniques I used were formal balance, which is found in the duck, turtle, bear and sails boats. Framing which is found around the art and lastly slightly grouping which is found in the lines that divide each section of art. my project started as a view of a shoe and I chose a piece of that shoe to make bigger and bigger and bigger. I chose a bigger view of a shoe and outlined it in sharpie then made abstract designs inside each section.

This artwork relates to my life because I love animals. If I could go back I would go and make the bear a little bit more realistic. I don't think he looks like a bear at all.
