PlayStation just released Wolverine, the game that was in development since late 2021 and finally came out in September 2026. The game introduces several new characters, including Mystique Omega Red (one of Marvel's X-Men's main villains), Wolverine, and several others. This article will go over the gameplay, the costs, the money, and some of the inspiration.
Starting with the main character, who is Wolverine. Wolverine, A.K.A. Logan, but that is a name he chose; his birth name would be James Howlett. After one night of him being sick and his father looking after him, he lies down for bed, and then he hears a scream. As he runs downstairs in his nightgown, he sees his father limp against the wall. A couple of feet away, he sees a man. A man with a gun runs at the man while screaming, puts his fist against the man, as white, wooden, knife-like claws come out of his hands. As the man starts to go limp, his mother yell logan that is your father. As he bursts out the door of his huge house, his brother chases him, grabs him, and says, “Yes, you did!... He deserved it. And you gave it to him”. While Logan sat there crying, he looked at his bloody hands and new claws; he was the wolverine. From there, as the years passed, Logan noticed that Victor Creed, Sabertooth, became more aggressive. Almost like he liked killing the people he hated, and Logan noticed this after he got carried away with a torrent in a helicopter. The wars he was recruited as a test for a team; the thought was that if they put adamantium in somebody's bones, they would be unkillable. Logan joined the program, and he was the perfect test. He had an extremely fast healing factor, which would help with any burns or pain to the skin.

After the test began, he was strapped down, and when they started, his eyes opened wide as his body blew up with immense pain. And he started shaking and rattling the chamber that he lay in as the add more and more needles; they watched the X-ray as his bones started to fill with metal. He started to scream, and as he became more reckless, the starts going faint. His heart monitor went to a flat line, and his body went limp. He lay there dead in the water, and as the doctor lost hope and started leaving the room the hear somthing a beep, and then another, and after a little bit, his eyes burst open. And he looked angry as he shook all the needles off. The doctor says, “Erase his memory”. And then Logan bursts out of the tube as he shoots out his new metal claws, tears everything apart, and flings everyone in sight. He took a necklace that says Wolverine. And from that point forward, that's what everybody calls him in the future. This is the story of Wolverine, and there was a lot that I missed, but I will have the movie titles in order for you to watch right here. It took them roughly 300-305million dollars to make the game and roughly 5 years to develop and release. All the costs mostly went to production and development of the game. The developers do not get a direct payment from the game's cost, so much for the number of people who buy the game.
Next thing we must talk about is the gameplay. The graphics of this game are almost better than Spider-Man 2, which was a huge success for marvel sony game, making 1.2billion dollars in gross revenue, and right now the game just came out, and it has already made 148 million dollars in revenue. They spent a lot of time making the graphics for this game as high quality as possible, spending roughly 305 million dollars just on the graphics.
This game has several great parts; if not several, then the entire game is amazing. Ok now actual gameplay in the game: you start of along side sabertooth and Mystique. Working together to save a few mutants and find this guy named Essex, also known as Mister Sinister. You go on and climb into the gates and notice a smell, and that's when you see the dead mutant. As you start to lift his body to see if there was a chance, you hear a beeping sound, and that's when you realize there was a tracker that detects when a mutant is in the area. You smell the tracker to tell when a tracker is near, and then you go on a mission to get rid of all the trackers in the area. You hunt them down, get rid of some guards, and destroy the trackers.

You get found and run down into a sewage drain, and then you get a smell, and it doesn't smell like human waste; it smells like dead mutants. You walk farther down as you notice that there are more and more until you hear 2 men talking, and then there is a third one begging. Then the guards shoot and kick the body back as you pounce out; you kill the guards and climb up to meet Mystique.
This game has a lot of ups and of course a lot of glitches, but that's why the developers are still working and fixing this game. This game is worth buying and is a really good game and experience. And we can't wait for the next sony game and big release VENOM…
