Literacy
Retelling Non-fiction
Read, watch or listen to a nonfiction story. You might like to listen to this book about giraffes!
Pay attention to the main idea and key details!
After reading or listening, try to retell the story by sharing the main idea, 2-3 key details and one thing you still wonder about the story. You can do this by writing, drawing or talking.
Share your learning with a friend, pet or family member.

Science
Investigate: What happens to the temperature of objects in the sun?
Talk about:
What do you think happens to rocks, soil, water, or sand in sunlight?
Do you think that they are the same temperature as those in the shade?
Why do you think that?
Observe: On a sunny day, compare how the ground feels in the sunlight and in the shade. Can you find rocks in the sun and the shade? Do they feel the same or different? If you have a thermometer, take the temperature of the objects.
Talk about:
What feels cooler, warmer, or the same temperature?
Did you notice any patterns?
What new questions do you have?
Look what you can do with the sun! Build the Best Solar Oven Ever!
PE
All you need is a pair of socks rolled into a ball and a box or basket of some kind. I've included a video of me demonstrating the activity. I set the basket up in all kinds of different areas to try and create a variety of challenging/trick shots. Get creative with how you get the socks in the basket. Bounce off 1 wall, 2 walls, roll socks down the stairs, shoot over chairs or tables, shoot through a hula-hoop, stand backward etc. Be sure to be careful around the house and check with an adult about where you can play safely without the possibility of breaking anything.
