Algebra 1/2 Week 1
Please Do These Lessons...
Day 1 (4/13 - 4/17)
Which Variable to Solve For
Use this activity to practice how to solve for different variables in different types of problems.
1.Make a copy of Which Variable to Solve For Task Statements.
2. If you need to review how to solve for variables, watch the video on the left.
Problem-Solving Task
Work on this task 10-15 minutes each day. It may take 3-5 days to find solutions. If you have a cell phone, you can take a picture of the problem on the left and use the edit function to mark on it.
Copy the number towers on the left onto a piece of paper.
Complete the number tower by writing algebraic expressions in the empty boxes
Use the completed number tower to show that 2x+ y = 14 and x+ 2y= 16.
Find values of x and y that satisfy both equations: 2x+ y = 14 and x+ 2y= 16.
Written Learning Reflection
On a piece of paper, write your answers to the following questions about your learning today. This can be used to have a conversation with your teacher.
Today, something new I learned was...
Questions, that I still have are....
Day 2
Writing & Graphing Systems of Linear Equations
Use this activity to write and graph systems of linear equations.
1.Make a copy of Writing and Graphing Systems of Linear Equations task statements.
2. If you need to review how to solve for variables, watch the video on the left.
