Science

  • Observe and record the weather (continuing from yesterday). You can use this recording sheet or any paper you have around home. Write or draw your observations. Make sure you note sunny, rainy, or windy days.

  • Later this evening, begin Look at the Moon! Journaling Project:

The Moon is the most visible object in our night sky, and we can sometimes even see it during the day. Does it always look the same?

You can start on any day of the month. Each evening, observe the moon. Record the date and time, and draw the moon as you see it in the sky. Repeat every day. If it’s too cloudy to see the moon, record the date and time and leave the picture area blank. You may use any scrap paper at home or use the Moon Journal page.

Instructions: Start your day out with a short guided mindfulness video for a great start to your day!

Then challenge yourself with a balloon or basketball (or playground ball) challenge.

When you're done with the challenge, take a walk around the neighborhood and think about how moving benefited your body today.

Adaptations

Balloons: Blow up a big balloon for an easier challenge, blow up a small balloon for a harder challenge

Basketball: Use a playground ball or other light bouncy ball, lighter balls will be easier for the challenge. Allow mistakes when learning!
