Dot Talk

There are many different ways to talk about how you see the dots on the left. Write down all the different ways you can see the dots. Try to come up with as many ways as you can think up.

Remember:

  • It is ok to think differently.

  • Mistakes grow our brains.

  • There are no right or wrong answers.

If you can find someone to talk with, ask them how they see the dots.

  • How are their ways of seeing the dots the same as you?

  • How are their ways of seeing the dots different than you?

Introducing the Sit Spot

  • Find a Sit Spot: Find a spot where you can sit and observe for 5 minutes each day. Ideally this spot will be outside. If going outside is not an option, you could look outside through a window or choose a spot in your home.

  • Sit and observe:

    • Go to your sit spot. Take a few deep breaths.

    • Observe. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? What do you feel?

    • Record your observations in your field journal. You can draw or write.

    • What questions do you have about what you have observed? Share your questions with a family member or pet, or write them down.

    • Remember to record the moon for your Moon Journal!
