  • Go outside to the exact same spot in the morning, noon and afternoon.

  • Measure the length of your shadow. What do you notice?

  • Can you run away from your shadow?

  • How are you and your shadow the same?

  • How are you and your shadow different?

  • What’s the most interesting shadow you can find? Do all the shadows you find look like the objects that cast them?

  • If you are with a sister, brother, or friend - try these fun things:

    1. Can you touch your partner’s shadow without touching your partner? Can you make your shadow touch your partner’s shadow?

    2. Can you and your partner make a shadow that looks like a person with four arms?
