Study Support Service

The CRN East of England Study Support Service offers support with the setup, delivery, monitoring and closure of studies eligible for the NIHR CRN portfolio.

The team, consisting of specialty and setting managers, Study Support Service Managers, Study Delivery Officers (SDOs) and administrators, provide essential support for researchers throughout the study lifecycle.

How we can support you and your study

The CRN East of England Study Support Service team provides support for non-commercial and commercially sponsored studies across all study designs.

We offer a range of support to help you plan, place and perform high quality research.

If your study meets the eligibility criteria for the NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio - also known as the NIHR CRN Portfolio - we will work with you, research and development offices, funders, and other stakeholders to deliver your study to time and target.

Our SDOs are an integral part of the service provision in CRN East of England and are the first point of contact for researchers (you can get in touch with them via the contact details below)

Our support includes offering advice and guidance for cost attribution and at grant application stage, dissemination of new, suitable studies to Partner Organisations for Expressions of Interest, and other mechanisms.

The ideal time to initiate this support is around the time your study has been shortlisted by a funder, which will ensure you get the full range of relevant support for you and your study.

It is never too early to contact us. We are happy to be involved in the very early stages of research right through to the later stages.

More information on how to run a study within the network is available on the national NIHR website.
