Yes, today we are going to focus not on the Convention itself, but the strength that it takes to stick with your convictions.
1. You will draw a role from the hat. You must maintain your role throughout the entire activity, even if you're personal feelings might be the opposite.
2. You will make poster supporting your position. You will have 15-20 minutes to do this. You will receive a piece of paper dependent upon what party you draw to make your poster on. You will either be a Federalist or anti-Federalist. Be sure to include the number you were given on your poster. You can assume that the way you feel should align with what you learned about the two groups yesterday, unless it is specifically pointed out on your card that you feel opposite you party about an issue. In the "facts you should know" pdf, you will find a cheat sheet regarding Federalists and Anti-Federalists.
3. In the second half of class, we will have a debate over some topics. The topics will revolve mostly around school (how to "govern" school) and life around town. Use your knowledge of whether a Federalist or anti-Federalist would be for or against the topics that are brought up. Remember, you must stay in YOUR character!
4. After the debate, you will need to answer the following question in an email and send it to me:
How would serving on the student council allow you to improve/make changes to your school?
