We are embarking on a project in which you will investigate and report on the battles of the Revolutionary War. The object of this is for you to gain an understanding of one of the battles, and report the details of the battle to the rest of your class. However, this is not a "report" in the sense that we will tell people facts. Instead, you will need to create a news report in front of the green screen.
Topic: Choose a battle from the American Civil War. They are listed below, in red.
Cowpens
Yorkton
Valley Forge-Not a battle. Mark it as a Colonist win though.
Saratoga
Bunker (Breeds) Hill
Lexington and Concord
Ft. Ticondaroga
Trenton- This includes mentioning Washington's army crossing the Delaware
Objective: Research your battle and gain a understanding for your battle.

Keys to Report:
Where on a map of the colonies is your battle located?
Who won?
Who were the commanding officers in charge?
How did the victors win the battle?
Were there any especially valiant (important for history or brave) stories?
Time: 30-60 seconds
Requirements:
Both must appear on camera in some capacity. May dress up for scenes. Must have accurate backgrounds.
Things to remember:
-Story, Story, Story. If you don't have a solid story, you don't have a solid video.
-Use background pictures to ADD to your story...not just to be there. Use them to help you tell the story
-You are there...so report in the present tense. This may mean finding creative ways to report the date, or talk about how it "could" affect the war.
-Make sure you have a plan for what you're filming written out and well coordinated before you go to film something in front of the green screen.
-Share the green screen!
Decisions to be made for the broadcast:
-"Where" are you going to film? As in, are you going to have someone in the "studio" or will all of it be from the "battlefield" or other location? Obviously, you'll need a picture to represent all of those areas.
-Are you going to have interviews of people? Are you going to have a news anchor?
-Who is going to do which part?
-What personal stories from the battle are you reporting on?
