Step-by-step instructions and checklist
- Meet with your client (your favorite teacher) and express interest in making a personalized hall pass. Make sure they know what you are intending to do, and ask for their input.
- Prepare three ideas for signs in Adobe Illustrator. You can print your three ideas on letter paper....or, if you are a detailed and patient young maker....wait in the queue and make a prototype of your three ideas on the laser engraver/cutter using cardboard.
- Meet with your teacher and get sign off (teacher initials showing approval of one of your three design ideas - must be Adobe Illustrator Drawings
- Get sign-off by me - and I will give you ONE (1) piece of alderwood for your sign.
- Engrave the sign
- Pose for a photograph with you and your teacher holding up the sign and smiling for the camera
- After you present the pass, ask the teacher to find a permanent display/resting place for the hall pass; then photograph the hall pass in the teacher's room where the hall pass is displayed.
