How do you avoid children's anxiety in a doctor's office waiting room. Pediatric doctors, dentists, hospitals, and school administrators need inventive games and play devices to keep children occupied.
Your design challenge - design a product for children in a waiting room. Great news....we can score a lot of lower school testers to give you feedback on your innovative product. Children love to play with your prototype, and most will not be bashful in offering instant feedback (That's Awesome......or....It Sucks!!!).
A physical prototype is required for this project
You will go through the entire design process with this project during the trimester. You will be making web posts for key milestones along the way. Follow the IB Design MDP Guidance for your project report (Criteria A, B, C and D)
Here are the key deliverables for the trimester. Each will be assessed as either a formative or summative assessment.
Week 1 - Research Table
Week 2 - Idea Generation
Week 3 - Design Brief; Conceptual Modeling (10 Ideas)
Week 4 - Conceptual Modeling (reducing 10 ideas to 3; CAD/CAM drawing to assess prototype before making)
