This is an Group Exercise (Formative) and Individual Exercise (Summative). Perform Tasks 1) through 5) in a Google Doc that is uploaded/shared to following Shared Folder so the class can participate in assessing your work.
You are organizing the Fab Lab TAs to manufacture parts for a tinkering makerspace activity for the entire lower school 5th grade (by classes – 5 classes of 15)
Group Exercise - Propeller Cars
Individual Exercise - Choose from the following (each member of your Table does a different Summer Fab Lab Project)
TASKS:
1) Make a purchase order
2) Make a workflow analysis
3) Prepare a value stream analysis
4) Analyze your workflow plan for the 7 wastes: overproduction, waiting, transporting, inappropriate processing, unnecessary inventory, unnecessary/excess motion, defects
5) Analyze your production assumptions for improvement by applying the principles of lean production
Post your findings on in a Google Doc and upload to a Shared Folder so that the class can review and grade your work
A – meets the standard (no errors)
B – partially meets the standard (one or two flaws in product selection, explanation, etc.)
C – does not meet standard
