Group Exercise
In the previous exercise (Shaping Methods), you made a GIF explaining a manufacturing technique...and then gave examples of products made from that specific manufacturing technique.
This is the reverse exercise - Explain what manufacturing techniques are used to make a product. Your team will do GIFs on how to make 3 products (1 required - How to Make a Soda Bottle; and then your team chooses 2 out of 3 additional items).

In groups of 2-3 walk around the school and identify a number of designed products or objects to help you carry out the following tasks. Wander around looking for interesting examples but stay within the school grounds. Take a camera, cell phone or iPad to photograph these items and address the questions relating to each task. Identify a different product for each task, photograph the product/object and answer the questions. And be sure to carry a copy of your OFFICIAL WANDER AROUND PASS

Task 1 - Find a metal product/object made using machining; find another object made by casting.
Task 2 - Find a plastic product made by blow-molding; find another made by compression molding
Task 3 - Find a product made by filament winding
Task 4 - Find two products – one made from thermoforming, and another one made from vacuum forming
Task 5 - Find two products - one made from weaving; and a second one made from knitting
