Our teaching team is made up of passionate musicians who are here to support you, share their love for music, and help you grow into the musician you want to be!

Department Information & Expectations
Our Music Department consists of 2 Classrooms and 4 small Practice Rooms.
The Practice Rooms are all equipped with Pianos, and we have a number of additional instruments available too. These include:

We are always open to instrument and equipment donations! If you have any old instruments gathering dust at home, the students will be happy to make good use of them!

Instrumental Instruction
Moray Council Music Instruction
The Music Instruction & Performance team provide instrumental music instruction on a range of instruments to Moray’s children and young people. Lessons are 30 minutes long, take place in school during normal school hours and are delivered on a weekly basis by qualified and experienced professional instructors.

Moray Schools Pipes and Drums Tuition Scheme
Supported by the Scottish Schools Piping and Drumming Trust (SSPDT), tuition of bagpipes and pipe band drumming is provided in Forres Academy by experienced music tutors.
Tuition is delivered on a weekly basis during the school day in groups – maximum of four. Individual tuition may be delivered if a pupil cannot be matched with pupils of a similar standard within the school, or, a child is the only pupil receiving lessons in the school.

Extra-Curricular
Speak to Mr Wilson if you are interested in joining his after school Rock Club. It takes place on a Thursday between 15:45 and 16:45 and is time for additional practice, or performing with a larger group of friends!
