National 5 Mathematics

Course Overview

The Senior Phase National 5 Mathematics course takes a single year approach to achieving  a National 5 level certification.

The course starts of with familiarisation of the algebraic skills required to solve National 5 level problems.  The Second unit proves  more of a focus onto  mathematical relationships, their interactions, and how to interpret  and interact with them.

The 3rd unit continues its focus on relationships, however, begins  to move away from more algebraic relationships and focusing on geometry, allowing students to familiarise themselves with the greater depth by which geometry is explored in Senior Phase mathematics.

The final unit 's main focus  is on the applications of mathematics, looking at how  mathematical skills are utilised in more practical applications, such as through statistics, and trigonometry.
