There are a number of on-going deadlines which are set to support completion of course work and it is important that all pupils do their best to keep up with the work and deadlines set. The course progresses at a fast pace so forward planning is key – department staff are happy and willing to support with this.
If a student does not understand what is being asked of them or is having difficulties with any part of the course, the department has an open door policy at lunchtimes. Any problems should be discussed with teacher as soon as they arise to avoid students getting behind.
Homework photo-shoot tasks are a key component for this course and need to be regularly undertaken to build project work.
Health & Safety is an important consideration for all photo-shoot activities & must be evident in project work.
If a student is absent, schedules of work/work covered in any one week is posted on Teams. This is to support all learners as it reminds and clarifies instructions. Therefore it is important that the class Team is accessed regularly. Students are expected to catch up on work missed due to absence. Again, teaching staff are here to help and can be contacted in person, on Teams or via Glow e-mail.

There will be two formal assessment deadlines which are set to support completion of course work. It is important that all students do their best to keep up with the work and deadlines set.
If a student does not understand what is being asked of them or is having difficulties with any part of the course, the department has an open door policy at lunchtimes. Any problems should be discussed with teacher as soon as they arise to avoid students getting behind.
Students will be expected to be taking some photographs in the school grounds as individuals or small groups as part of the classroom activities and are required to be trustworthy and be reliable in terms of behaviour and common sense as health and safety and tacking responsibility for self-organisation is part of the course assessment criteria.
Some photoshoots for level 5 are expected to be done as homework to enable students to photograph a variety of locations and encourage student choice. It is expected that the student takes a significant level of personal responsibility for taking planned photo-shoots out of school in their own time. Organisation, planning, and consideration of Health & Safety are key element of this course and a requirement in order to pass the course.
