Abstract:
Transportation Data and Models are main tools in making transportation infrastructure design and investment decisions. These instruments quantify impact of the transportation plans and project designs on national, state and local levels. Both private investors and governments rely on robust defensible system analysis and forecast produced by data analysis tools, simulation and forecasting models. This presentation will broadly outline current state of the practice, discuss main approaches, current challenges and directions on both data and modeling sides in the transportation planning and forecasting field.
